5th Sunday of Lent

For today’s homily, Fr. MD focuses on one verse in the gospel: “…I am troubled now.”  Jesus said that because He knew He would faced death on the cross.  Why did He accept being crucified?  This vlog will give the reason.  Based on the readings of Jeremiah 31: 31-34; Hebrews 5: 7-9; & John 12: 20-33.

4th Sunday of Lent

We often hear people saying  “She does not go to church or pray but at least she still believes in Jesus.”  What would Fr. MD’s respond?  Let’s watch the vlog to find out!  Based on the readings of 2 Chronicles 36: 14-23; Ephesians 2:4-10; & John 3: 14-21.

3rd Sunday of Lent

The first reading focuses on the 10 Commandments.  Why is it important to know them?  The answer is to please God by obeying Him.  The more we know the commandments, the less we will sin.  In addition, knowing them will also help us become more aware of our sinfulness and seek forgiveness from God.  Based on the readings of Exodus 20: 1-17; 1 Corinthians 1: 22-25; & John 2: 13-25

2nd Sunday of Lent

For today’s gospel reading, the Church focuses on the story of Jesus’ Transfiguration.  Why does the Church want us to read that story?  Let’s watch the vlog!  Based on the readings of Genesis 22: 1-18; Romans 8:31-34; & Mark 9: 2-10.

1st Sunday of Lent

Today is the first Sunday of Lent!  In the past, Fr. MD normally focused on the gospel reading.  However, he will now talk about the 1st reading!  It will give us some insights into the effects of all sins.  Based on the readings of Genesis 9: 8-15; 1 Peter 3: 18-22; & Mark 1: 12-15.
