Today the gospel talks about Joseph, who through the encouragement of an angel welcomes Mary into his home.  By doing so, Joseph also welcomes ‘Jesus through Mary’.  The more we welcome Mary in our lives, she can help us become close to Jesus.  Based on the readings of Isaiah 7: 10-14; Romans 1: 1-7; & Matthew 1: 18-24

The gospel reading today talks about John criticizing the Jewish religious leaders.  Why did he do that?  Because he was concerned about them.  Likewise, we need to accept our loved ones’ corrections when they notice our faults and sins.  Based on the readings of Isaiah 11: 1-10; Romans 15: 4-9; & Matthew 3: 1-12.
