In this gospel, Jesus warns us not to have false gods such as money. Some people might not have money as their false gods. However, we all have our own bad habits and other sinful attachments that harm our relationship with God. We need God to help us recognize these and have strength to “divorce” our attachments to our false gods and bad & sinful habits.
