Jesus, in the gospel, wants us to make God “number one” in our lives.  Why?  So we can have His love, peace, and joy.  However, we struggle with our many distractions that prevent us to become fully united with Him.  May the gospel inspire us to seek God more and more in our lives.  Based on the readings of 1 Kings 3: 5-12; Romans 8: 28-30; Matthew 13: 44-46.
