Because God is all perfect, He cannot tell a white lie. He will tell us truthfully if we are not close to Him and thus cannot say that we are His true friends. Jesus wants us to open our hearts completely to God. Based on the readings of Isaiah 66: 18-21; Hebrews 12: 5-13; Luke 13: 22-30.
