Homily for April 6

Why did Jesus break the bread during His appearance to the disciples on the Road to Emmanus? Fr. MD thinks it is because Jesus wants to help the disciples recognize him and then associate breaking of the bread to His continuing presence when they celebrate Mass. We continue to meet Jesus at the Mass. Based on the readings of Acts 2: 14 – 23, Peter 1: 17 – 21, Luke 24: 13-35

Homily for March 30

Today we celebrate Divine Mercy – that is, God is always ready to forgive us whenever we tell Him that we are sorry for our sins. Click on the vlog above to learn more about how much God loves us. Based on the readings of Acts 2: 42-47; 1 Peter 1: 3-9, John 20: 19-31.

Homily for May 25

Today the Catholic Church remembers Corpus Christi – aka – Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. From the days of the Apostles, the Catholic Church teaches that we meet Jesus face to face and receive His Body and Blood when we receive the holy communion. In this vlog, Fr. MD shares his reflections on this subject. Based on the readings of Deuteronomy 8:2-16; 1 Corinthians 10: 16-17; John 6: 51-58.

Homily for Easter Sunday, March 23

Jesus’ resurrection occurred 2,000 years ago requires us to have faith, which to accept and believe even though we have never witnessed this remarkable event. Fr. MD, in this vlog, discusses what it means to have faith and how we can continue, through our faith, to meet resurrected Jesus who is very alive today. Based on the readings of Acts 10: 34-43; Colossians 3: 1-4; John 20: 1-9.

Our Father Prayer

This prayer is one of the most well known memorized prayers in the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, many people including the hearing do not really understand what this prayer means. It is my hope that this ASL version will help Deaf people, who use ASL as their primary language, understand what this prayer is really all about.
